AUDITIONS FOR NEW COMPANY- NOV. 2010! |
Hip-hop Artists are usually solely trained Hip-hop dancers that are often cast among Company Members in pieces that require urban or Hip-hop technique. Company Members and Hip-hop Artists are cross-trained so that they may be used in a variety of choreographic creations.
Company Members receive their ongoing training at The Conservatory, located in Downtown Greeley. They are required to attend weekly Ballet, Jazz, Modern and Hip-Hop classes (for Hip-hop Artists only) in addition to their Saturday morning rehearsals. All required classes, rehearsals and costumes are provided by 8th Street Company Inc. at no expense to the dancer. Company Members are paid an annual performance stipend by the Company. New Company Members, Hip-Hop Artists and Apprentices are accepted on an "as needed" basis as 8th Street Contemporary does not maintain a predetermined number of dancers each season.
